One of the biggest changes on the wordpress v3.0 is you don’t have to install mutiple site using many subdomains that have a wordpress in it. With WordPress v3.0 you only need to change the config.php before the installation.
Find this line in your wp-config.php and change the statement from false to true :
define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true);
after that, you can access the network page from Tool > Network
By default, you would only be allowed to run other blogs as a subdomain. To use other domains for blogs, you can use a Domain mapping plugins.
